W3C standard
Standards compliance is a value for everybody.

Creating a Web site for everyone isn’t an easy task. Hotel Porta del Sole, with Evoluzione Telematica’s contribution, committed to build this website following web standards.
The pages code was written complying with XHTML 1.0 and CSS 2.0 standards by W3C (World Wide Web Consortium), a consortium which establishes the rules governing the World Wide Web, from HTML to XML, from CSS to WCAG accessibility.

Our efforts were mainly directed at implementing every solution to make the site standards – compliant, for example no table was used for layout purposes, in the code language changes are always marked to allow Screen Readers to correctly pronounce foreign words.
Acronyms are always highlighted with a broken line underscore. Hovering with the mouse on the word you are told of its meaning. Abbreviations are marked in the code.

The site was tested on Internet Explorer 6, Opera 7.x and Netscape 7.1

Compliance has been tested for the following standards:

xhtml  css

Advantages of a standard - compliant development:
  • better assurance that the site is correctly visible with every browser
  • lighter and faster to display pages
  • more efficient search engine indexing
  • better maintainable pages with lower maintenance costs
  • backward compatible pages with a longer life span
  • accessible pages for disabled people
Everything is improvable. So we ask you to report problems or doubts about this site functionality. Doing that, you will help us to improve it.
